Safe Places to Cross the Road
Research shows that children under age 12 don’t have the skills or experience to be safe in traffic. At that age, road safety is not instinctive or automatic. They need explicit teaching to develop the skills to stay safe around traffic and roads.
In this lesson, students learn about the safest places to cross the road. They create a streetscape and identify the safest place to cross the road.
