Vehicle safety features are so important that if everyone drove a five-star safety rated vehicle, road trauma could be reduced by up to half.
In this lesson, students are introduced to different types of vehicle safety features. They explore how safety features can help avoid crashes or protect road users who are involved in a crash, and then consider which features they’d like to see in vehicles of the future, and why.
This activity supports:
- Scientific knowledge may be interpreted in different ways by individuals and groups in society; the values and needs of society can influence the focus of scientific research (VC2S10H04)
- Newtonʼs laws of motion can be used to quantitatively analyse the relationship between force, mass and acceleration of objects (VC2S10U17)
